It’s official: we get to keep our COLA. The proposal to rescind state employees’ January 2015 cost of living adjustments was not included in the final budget passed by the Maryland Legislature.

Earlier this month, Landscape Services teamed up with a group of students to spruce up the grounds surrounding the TU sign at the corner of Cross Campus and Osler Drives. Despite rainy weather, six students joined the landscape crew to plant more than 250 calibrachoa flowers around the highly visible sign. The results, above, speak for themselves.
In return for his outstanding work going above and beyond to help their department, earlier this month Greek Life presented Event Manager Tommy Judd with their Community Partner Award, which moving forward will be known as the “Tom Judd Community Partner Award.” Congratulations Tom!
The Employee Appreciation Picnic will feature music, food and activities for kids from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 29th on the CLA Field (between CLA and Dowell). The rain location is inside the Union Garage.
The Special Olympics of Maryland will host their 2015 Summer Games from June 5 to 7 on TU’s campus. Events include aquatics, athletics, bocce, cheerleading and softball, plus a block party and opening and closing ceremonies. The events are free and open to the public.
