Variety is the spice of life.
A&F employee Julie Hall makes a very strong case for this adage.
Hall’s interests are wide-ranging. While most of her time is spent with her husband and two children, Hall finds time to run 5Ks, she hangs out with friends, and she participates in events like the Polar Bear Plunge! Such interests intersect at Towson, as Hall invited other A&F employees to join her plunge team.
So, what does Julie do Monday through Friday until 5 p.m.? Well, it is certainly not what she had imagined when she graduated with a degree in Biology from Frostburg State University with the intentions of becoming a wildlife biologist.
Hall’s career began in high school with a position at Hecht’s. She worked there through college and continued after graduating. She found she needed something better, however, and landed a job as a teller at Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union (APGFCU). During her time at APGFCU, Julie worked her way up the ranks and met her husband, a former TU student and former TU student employee. He introduced Julie to Towson and was important to the start of her career at TU.
Before assuming the position she holds now, Hall worked in Financial Services as the PeopleSoft Project Specialist. She joined the PeopleSoft team during the transition from FRS to PeopleSoft Financials.
Hall is now the Accounts Payable Supervisor for A&F, a position that entails overseeing the bill paying functions of the division and contributing to the financial reports, among other duties. She has now been working at Towson for six years.
It is apparent that Julie enjoys her job. When asked what she likes about her position, Hall responded:
“I like everything, really,” she said. “I like interacting with people on campus, and I also like seeing the other side of things, too. It keeps me on my toes. I enjoy the challenges involved. Unique things are always happening here.”
