Administration and Finance held its annual divisional retreat this past Wednesday, Oct. 23. The day-long retreat focused on team building and developing new mission statements to meet the evolving roles of the division and the university.
The team building exercises required, amongst other items, those attending to split into groups of five or six and draw the division – map it, diagram it, show what A&F is and what it stands for in a picture. The results were creative, engaging, and really demonstrated how A&F is an integral part of Towson University.
Part of the retreat was aimed at explaining and reviewing divisional procedures and practices, with presentations from OHR and Procurement. Topics covered included “The Role of Managers” and contract delegation.
The day ended with a presentation on “What’s Changing at TU?” The discussion covered campus construction projects and the proposed new Daily Digest system. In addition to giving project details and updates, the presentation discussed the long term goals and visions behind the projects.
As for revising the mission statements, Administration & Finance is continually adapting to the evolving scope of Towson University, but one thing remains clear: A&F is the foundation of Towson University.
