Announcements and Reminders

On February 26, Police Chief Bernie Gerst jumped into the icy Deep Creek Lake during the 13th Annual Deep Creek Dunk—the Western Maryland equivalent of the Polar Bear Plunge. The event is sponsored by the Maryland State Police and raised more than $100,000 for the Special Olympics of Maryland. Read about Bernie’s experience at the Polar Bear Plunge here.

Honors and Awards

Diane Hammer in the Office of Administration & Finance and Jerri Sumwalt in Auxiliary Services completed Human Resources’ Workplace Professional Certificate, a ten-course program which is specifically designed for university support staff. Congratulations Diane and Jerri!



The Presidential Search and Selection Committee will host a town hall meeting from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 17 in the Minnegan Room. During the meeting, TU faculty and staff will have the opportunity to share their thoughts on the qualifications that the committee should take into consideration when selecting the next president.
